Uncle Jim and MaxEberly’s Smoked Meats!

  Remember the old days of family-owned, neighborhood butcher shops? One of the most well-known in the area was Eberly’s Butcher Shop in Yoe. Our family (Uncle Jim) started the shop in the 1960s and ran it alongside his wife Flora for 20 years. Our father (Max Eberly) joined Uncle Jim at the butcher shop in the mid-‘70s. Uncle Jim was referred to as a butcher “extraordinaire.” He slaughtered, processed and retailed home-cured meats using his proprietary family recipes. Fast forward 35 years to 2015, and Eberly’s bologna and other family recipes are not only still talked about today but are also sought after and widely acclaimed. Max’s daughter Dotti has used the same secret family recipes that were passed down a generation ago, as she learned how to make bologna from Uncle Jim back when the butcher shop was open. Today, Dotti and her brother Butch are bringing Eberly’s Smoked Meats BACK to carry on the family business and tradition started by Uncle Jim and their dad Max!
